Last night we had our final meeting for 2012. It is really hard to believe that we have been meeting every month for the last 3 years and everyone is enjoying the group so much that they want to keep on coming!
The theme for the meeting was to bring something that each person had crafted during the year and was very proud of. While we usually focus on paper crafting things at our meetings, the members are a very talented bunch and enjoy a variety of other crafts, which we saw plenty of evidence of at the meeting!
We took pictures of all the creations, and I apologise in advance to the clarity of some of the pictures! It was getting late when we took them...
Barbara started this canvas after the meeting where we all made a canvas. She finished it recently and it looks just stunning. It is going to England in the next few weeks.
Barbara is also a whizz at machine embroidery and she made this beautiful angel - all embroidered on her fantastic machine. It looks stunning with the tealight underneath it and would be a very nice addition to any Christmas Tree this year!
Denise just started coming to our group this year and has shown us that she is a very talented lady. Not only does she do recreational marching, but she is also a great maker of jewellery. Each of the beads in the set is individually attached to a tiny ring, then attached to the chain. It really is beautiful.
Elizabeth is a patchworker extraordinare!
This Advent Calendar was designed and made by Elizabeth. What a work of art. Each heart is a little pocket for hiding little goodies in for each day of Advent.
Wow! was the only thing we could say when Elvina brought these gorgeous dolls out of the large box she struggled in with!
Santa and Mrs Claus stand about 20 inches tall and are fabulous. The patchwork and stitching in these two dolls is amazing, along with the intricate detail of the dolls themselves.
These will become a real family heirloom!
These two cute patchwork baskets were made by Janet, a budding patchworker!
Julie has been busy with her sewing machine as well and made the flowers that adorn this cushion. It is so cute!
Julie also brought along this gorgeous wall hanging that she made for a friend. The picture does not do it justice and it does look beautiful against a wall.
All in all, a successful year for the Crafty Girls and we are all looking forward to more fun next year.
